Namsate from b raj giri
Welcome to my personal website! I was born to an illiterate and subsistent parents in a remote village of Nepal, called Saping (see map below or click for a detailed map of Saping, see My Family Tree and pictures of my Birthplace). I lived with my family for the first 15 years of my life and attended schools in Saping and the next village, called Bhumlutar. In 1993, after sitting for the so-called School Leaving Certificate examinations (or SLC – a nationwide entrance exam for high school), I came to Kathmandu to live and work as an ‘urban’ inhabitant for the first time. As I did not have any prior work experiences or trainings, I had to labour in a number of tourist hotels and restaurants to meet my daily needs. Although I had passed the SLC exam, it was not possible to join a high school while working (i.e. I could not get free time or earn enough money).

Unexpectedly, I came to the Netherlands in January 1995, and ever since my life has totally changed. For the first time in my life, I started to learn about computers at the International School of Amsterdam, besides learning English language and following the high school education. I became incredibly interested in making websites. However, as a full-time student, who barely spoke any English at the beginning of high school, I was (and I am still) unable to spend as much time as I would have liked to computer-related activities.
Over the years, however, I managed to comprehend the computer basics and made a number of websites, including one for the Nepal SATHI Foundation, which is my major contribution to the Nepali society that will continue for a long time to come. In my personal website, you will be able to know about my childhood, my education journey, my family support, and my extracurricular activities. Besides many of my un/published articles/essays, I have also uploaded hundreds of pictures from Nepal and around the world.
