Primary School: I began my education from the Shree Seti Devi Lower Secondary School, which is situated at Saping VDC 1 (see picture below). This is the nearest school from my home, and it takes 20 minutes on foot. My school did not have any tables and benches apart from teachers' collective office. My brother also studied in the same school, which did not even have a building. By the time I started, the building was there, and some uncomfortable bamboo seats. Students used to clean classrooms on Friday after school. I studied in this school up to seven grades, and I moved to another school in Dolalghat town. The school today consists of 3 tin-roofed building, and it has furniture as well. Before I came to the Netherlands in February 2006, I often used to organize various interschool contests, which were held at this school.
Secondary School: Since Saping did not have a secondary school, I joined to the Shree Dulaleshwor Secondary School (Dolalghat) as advised by my family. Because this school was located in a small town (school photo coming soon), especially my brother thought the education quality here would be a bit better than in other villages. Road network also attracted students not just from the nearby villages but also from other neighboring districts to study in Dolalghat. So, I was able to meet and befriend with students coming from different places, and social and cultural backgrounds. Another important aspect of this school, as least for me, was that all students had to wear uniforms. I studied here for about three years and obtained SLC (School Leaving Certificate) Diploma in 1999. Like my primary school, I have continued to be in touch with this school and my friends. I in fact also learned Newari language from the local shopkeepers so I came to know more people than just my schoolteachers and students.
High School (intermediate): After my SLC exam, I had no choice other than coming to Kathmandu for high school education. (Only these days a few village and town schools offer up to high school education.) During the 3 months long waiting period for SLC results, I searched various schools to join, and obtaining the SLC Diploma, I decided to join the People's Campus, which is a semi-private institute affiliated to Tribhuwan University (TU) and Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB). There were several lines of studies to follow, but I chose commerce study. I was amazed to meet students coming from all over Nepal. I could enjoy two years in the one of the better-known colleges (i.e. high schools) in Kathmandu. I received my PLC (i.e. high school) Diploma in 2002.
Bachelors: I had to move to a new school after my PLC Diploma because People's Campus was a bit expensive. So, I decided to join an affordable institute called Rant Jyoti Multiple Campus, which is also affiliated to Tribuwan University (TU). At this school, I followed Bachelor's in Business Studies (BBS) for three years, and obtained a BBS Degree in 2005.
